Sami’s migraines were more than just an inconvenience.
At the time, the migraines were throwing everything off.
She couldn’t keep up with responsibilities around the house and became irritable with her kids – which stressed her out even more and left her feeling guilty (how was this affecting their development? 😬).
Imagine trying to meet with clients while your head feels like it’s splitting open – not fun and driving to appointments didn’t feel safe. Her business suffered because she couldn’t keep up, leading to worries about lost sales and income.
And quality time with her wife? Out the window.
Enjoying “me time” (what’s that again? 🤔) doing the things she loved, like working in the yard, going to concerts, or rollerblading? Forget about it.
The worst part?
The uncertainty. She never knew when a migraine would strike and ruin the carefully-managed plan she had for her day!
It felt like her life was falling apart, one migraine at a time.
Desperate for relief, like many of us, Sami tried everything she could think of:

To speed up this process, we first assessed her medical history, other symptoms she may have been experiencing and brainwave patterns at multiple sites.
Through some gentle, research-based trial and error, we kept tweaking and fine-tuning things to find the perfect approach for Sami. (I’m a huge science geek, so I love this part! 🤓)
To make sure we were on the right track, we used some very handy (and super-easy!) tools:
✔️ A list of quick questions she answered before each session that covered all areas of her life, not just the migraines. This was super important in catching even the subtlest changes – because Neurofeedback often helps with waaay more than their main issue. My clients are usually very happily surprised by the unexpected improvements!
✔️ A specially-designed, easy-to-use rating system for her symptoms. This way, Sami didn’t have to struggle to remember if she “rated” her pain a 9 or an 8 last week. It kept things simple and clear, helping us track her progress accurately – and without any added stress on her daily life!
So, how did we know when we had found the right protocol for Sami?
By the fourth session, Sami had reported a significant improvement.
She had gone a few days without a migraine, and when she did get one, over-the-counter medicine knocked it out by the afternoon. Huge early win! 🎉
